White noise is great for providing a pleasant masking sound. White noise is generally known for it's use in sound conditioners and sleep machines. To use, simply play the noise CD at a comfortable listening level (slightly louder than external noises and distractions) to help mask unpleasant noises using a more pleasant sound similar to rain or TV or radio static. It is typically used for situations to reduce distractions from sudden or constant noises. Many people like to sleep, nap, meditate, or study while playing white noise in the background. If you are considering buying a sleep machine or sound conditioner; you should seriously consider buying a noise CD, noise sampler CD, or perhaps try a noise MP3 download. This will save you money by utilizing your existing resources (your CD player or computer). A nice thing about noise CDs is that they are portable and compact; so it's easy to take them wherever you go, and typically CD players are not too hard to come by. This is great for the frequent traveler. We generate our Analog White noise using a classic analog synthesizer circuit through a modern tube pre-amp where it is converted to a digital stream and recorded directly to digital medium. We then digitally master it and duplicate directly to CDR. This way, you get a recording that is as close to the original sound as possible. We don't use a delay or alter the phase to generate a stereo sound field. We utilize two tracks of random noise to maintain the original quality.
